About Bob Wilds

Bob Wilds

I have always been a deeply committed conservationist since the early 1970’s. I was the first speaker during the first Earth Day Rally addressing the plight of whales with regard to whaling worldwide. I’ve also lectured at Harvard, Goddard, MIT and many colleges and high schools in America. In 1976, I was asked to represent the U.S. in Norway at a symposium directly involved with the quota and taking of marine mammals worldwide.

My efforts and that of many others have helped reduce the killing of whales, seals, and many other marine mammals. These efforts opened the door of communication with those whom generally have never been willing to listen to the opinions of conservationists.

In the 1980’s –mid 90’s I owned, operated and was an active naturalist in the whale watching industry in Maine. In the town of Bar Harbor I built the first museum in New England pertaining to, and celebrating the living whales found off of our coast. I estimate I’ve spoken to over 500,000 people concerning the plight of whales. I’ve been owner and naturalist on whale watch boats for 24 years. It’s been a great run and I recently retired from whale watching to pursue Great Marsh Kayak Tours where I can spend time enjoying nature and sharing it with others.

When the opportunity arose to be a part of the Bum Boosa™ team, whose vision is based on thoughtful, deliberate and careful business decisions designed to protect this planet while striving to provide a high quality environmentally safe product, I took it! I currently reside on Cape Cod with my wife Nancy and our three dogs.

Bob has also authored the young adult books "Millennium Angel" and "The Secret". The Millennium Angel is a wonderful novel written for young adults about intriguing characters that are challenged to save our planet. Issues of consciousness and healing are incorporated to create a blend of magic and discovery. Find out how its purchase can help save the reefs of the world!
